From the Website: Located in the heart of Midtown, Après Diem evokes the atmosphere and flavor of the classic cafes and bistros of Europe through its mellow ambiance and eclectic menu. Serving traditional continental cuisine with an updated edge, Après Diem also boasts an extensive and carefully selected wine list to complement your dining experience. Indulge in a delightful dessert from our pastry case and top your meal off with a steaming hot latte or cappuccino!

I’ve been there twice now, and I think overall I really like this place. My complaints, if any, were small. I had the salad with avocados and salmon and the hubs had the massive plate of eggs. Both were delicious. The atmosphere is nice. They have a large outside seating area and are right next to a theatre so it would be a great spot for pre-movie grub & drinks!

For the Hubs B-day week we went to the Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint in Downtown Atlanta for lunch. He had a huge Po’Boy and I had the salmon. This is a great little southern spot that makes amazing fried chicken, greens and the like. I recommend getting the moonshine if you are there at night. The atmosphere is laid back with live music almost always playing. Great resto/bar!

Everyone knows about P.F. Chang’s. I love it when we are close to one we usually go and at least get an app. Now that they have their food in the freezer isle it’s less likely to find us at the actual restaurants as they are all located a million miles from Downtown Atlanta.

Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery

From their website: Located at the corner of Peachtree St. and West Peachtree St. in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. The circa 1913 building with its brick, beams, patio and deck houses a restaurant where comfort and quality merge to create a soulful dining experience.

I was impressed with the atmosphere and the back patio was perfect for sitting in the shade and dining outside. That is hard to come by in Downtown Atlanta. I think they are a bit overpriced, but the portions were large and the food was good. They tout their own beer line and feature a wood-fired grill- we didn’t get anything prepared on the grill, but I saw some focaccia go by that looked great!
