From the Website: Located in the heart of Midtown, Après Diem evokes the atmosphere and flavor of the classic cafes and bistros of Europe through its mellow ambiance and eclectic menu. Serving traditional continental cuisine with an updated edge, Après Diem also boasts an extensive and carefully selected wine list to complement your dining experience. Indulge in a delightful dessert from our pastry case and top your meal off with a steaming hot latte or cappuccino!

I’ve been there twice now, and I think overall I really like this place. My complaints, if any, were small. I had the salad with avocados and salmon and the hubs had the massive plate of eggs. Both were delicious. The atmosphere is nice. They have a large outside seating area and are right next to a theatre so it would be a great spot for pre-movie grub & drinks!

For the Hubs B-day week we went to the Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint in Downtown Atlanta for lunch. He had a huge Po’Boy and I had the salmon. This is a great little southern spot that makes amazing fried chicken, greens and the like. I recommend getting the moonshine if you are there at night. The atmosphere is laid back with live music almost always playing. Great resto/bar!

Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill & Brewery

From their website: Located at the corner of Peachtree St. and West Peachtree St. in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. The circa 1913 building with its brick, beams, patio and deck houses a restaurant where comfort and quality merge to create a soulful dining experience.

I was impressed with the atmosphere and the back patio was perfect for sitting in the shade and dining outside. That is hard to come by in Downtown Atlanta. I think they are a bit overpriced, but the portions were large and the food was good. They tout their own beer line and feature a wood-fired grill- we didn’t get anything prepared on the grill, but I saw some focaccia go by that looked great!

I’m not typically a fan of places like this (small, uber-modern, no parking) but Top FLR was a wonderful surprise! Their description:

Top Flr is a “small, romantic and with-it” 2 story restaurant/ bar, “that you have been waiting for,” featuring “delicious bistro dishes, a wine list that rocks, and wonderfully affordable prices…”

It’s located right off Ponce, and as I found out later, it is the sister spot for Sound Table.

I went with a LARGE group and the service was faster than expected. The food was delicious. We had a group with several vegetarians and a million different preferences. This was not a problem with the menu options. Look at the lamb- pretty darn good. The Mac-N-Cheese was no joke. Overall I would give this place a thumbs-up and return for sure!

For lunch the other day I went with one of the Everywhere Interns to Noni’s Deli on Edgewood Ave. We were in the mood for sandwiches and were really happy with the plates we received. HUGE portions, fresh ingredients, and well thought out sides.

Noni genoa salami, sop- pressata, mortadella, provolone, tomato, roasted red pepper, pepper-oncini, shredded romaine, house aioli, house vinaigrette on ciabatta $8.5

Spinozzi chicken salad, arugula, lemon vinaigrette, balsamic reduction on toasted ciabatta $8

Great lunch spot! At night this place really kicks it up a notch with a full-bar and great patio. Highly recommend a visit!
